Update

The last week has been terribly long and stressful but we are getting close.
We had a very large order from Moleskine come in that had been incorrectly filled, the books we got were ruled, despite that we had ordered plain. The next day Eben got a hold of Moleskine and they were very kind and responded very quickly to resolve the situation since we were on a tight time line to get books back to all our participants. Despite how quickly Moleskine got us the correct order, we were burdened with the problem that some people would be getting their books late. Through a group consensus (with the participants), we decided it would be best to push back the day that assignments start.

Assignments will now start February 5th and run till April 7th.

Honestly, I didn't expect so many people to respond to my long winded email, but they did and it made me really grateful to have so many committed people on board. I really can not express how excited I am to have such a great roster of people involved, from all over the united states.

With that said, I will stress again, that I fully encourage people to actively comment on our assignments as they appear on this blog and on our Facebook. This is yet another way for people to be involved, share their thoughts, be able to see each others thoughts and communicate with one another. Another level to develop connections. This will also give us the opportunity to get an understanding of how people feel about things since it's looking like we will run this project again next year and would appreciate the feedback.

I also want to direct people to Now.For.Art, which is the collaborative name under which Adam, Eben and myself organize all these art projects, Papergirl, & In One Another. We also have a Steam Roller Printmaking workshop scheduled for this spring and will also be putting out info on Papergirl Northampton II soon. I will also attempt to update this site with other opportunities for artists. It's worth book marking if you like what we've done so far, as other ideas and projects are in the works!

I really look forward to getting started with the assignments and will be sure to update here if anything comes up between now and February 5th. After that, this blog will strictly be a list of the daily assignments.

Where we're at...

With less than a week before assignments begin, we are totaling in with 80 participants from all over the united states! This totally rocks because we were realistically anticipating only about 50 doodlers with the high hopes for around 100. We hit a very satisfactory middle ground. A big thank you to everyone who helped us spread the word to get this many people on board.

A Couple Notes,

We are officially in the crunch zone on our end of this project to get books back to everyone on time for our February 1st start date. We are still receiving orders from our sketch book suppliers and mailing them out with prioritization on distance (how far you live from Northampton) and are confident that everyone will get their books on time. If you live in Northampton/Amherst/Hadley, we will most likely be hand delivering your books over this upcoming weekend.

If for any reason you decide you want to change how you receive your assignments just shoot us an email at and.in.one.another@gmail.com and we'll get that straightened out.

Also, if you decide you want your sketch book to remain anonymous, we have all the books numbered and corresponding to a master list of participants. You don't have to put your name anywhere in or on your book if you don't want to because we can track you through this numeric system in order to make sure you get your book back. I will say though, it would be nice if everyone at least signed their 8 "trade" drawings, but that would obviously compromise your anonymity. Do whatever you want, I guess.

Well that is all for now, as per usual, don't hesitate with any questions, see our email address above.

Hope everyone is well and ready to draw like crazy for two months!
